What is GEO?

GEO stands for generative engine optimization: improving how often AI tools that write answers, like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI, name, recommend and cite your business. It's sometimes called AI SEO or answer engine optimization.

What's the difference between GEO and SEO?

SEO gets your page ranked in Google's list of links. GEO gets your business named in the answer an AI writes. They share a lot (pages that answer the question, accurate listings, reviews, links), but GEO also leans on other sites mentioning you, and on pages written so a sentence can be quoted on its own.

Does GEO replace SEO?

No. AI assistants often look things up on Google and Bing before they answer, so ranking still feeds them. Groow does both in one plan.

Do I need a GEO agency?

You can do GEO yourself: check what AI says, fix your pages, get listed where it looks. It takes a few hours a week to do well. Groow's Starter plan shows you what to do; Growth has our team do it for you.
