The FAQ template
Your customers have already told Google what they want to know. This finds those questions and turns them into an FAQ on the page Google already shows.
1. Find the questions
In Google Search Console: Performance → Search results → Add filter → Query → Custom (regex), and paste:
Question filter
^(who|what|when|where|why|how|which|can|does|is|should)\s
Turn on the Pages tab too. That's every question you show up for, and the page Google shows for it.
2. Pick the pages
Start with pages already on page 1 or 2 (position 20 or better) that show up for two or more questions.
3. Write the FAQ
On that page, near the end:
- Heading: Questions people ask.
- Question: their exact words, tidied into a sentence ending in a question mark.
- Answer: two or three plain sentences. The answer first, then one useful detail. Only facts you can stand behind.
4. Add FAQ markup
Add FAQPage structured data with the same questions and answers, so search engines and AI tools read them as answers. Your site builder or SEO plugin can usually do it; otherwise it's a short block of code.
5. Check back in four weeks
Use the same filter: did your position and clicks for those questions go up?
