Copy these, fill in the brackets, and send one to every customer right after the job. Ask everyone, not just the happy ones.
Before you send anything
Get your direct Google review link: open your Google Business Profile, choose Ask for reviews, and copy the link. It takes the customer straight to the review box.

Text, right after the job
Hi [first name], thanks for choosing [business]. If you have a minute, would you leave us a quick Google review? It really helps other people find us: [link]
Email, the same day
Subject: How did we do, [first name]? Thanks again for choosing [business] for [service]. If we did a good job, would you share it in a short Google review? Mentioning the service you had helps other customers know what to expect. [link] And if anything wasn't right, just reply to this email and I'll fix it. [your name]

To a bad review
I'm sorry, [name]. That's not the experience we want anyone to have. I'd like to make it right; please call me directly on [phone]. [your name], [role]
The rules
- Ask every customer, not just the happy ones. Picking only happy customers is review gating, which Google doesn't allow.
- Never offer anything in return: no discounts, gift cards or prize draws.
- It's fine to ask them to mention the service they had. Don't tell them what to say.
- Reply to every review within two days, good or bad.
