Write pages that answer the question

Your own website still matters: it's where AI checks the details, and in our Local AI Index more than half of all answers cited at least one business's own site. The pages that get quoted have one thing in common. They answer the question straight away.

Answer in the first two sentences

Start each service page with a plain answer to the question it's about. Not “Welcome to our website”, but “We repair and replace furnaces across Des Moines and Ankeny, usually the same day, with upfront prices before any work starts.” Then add the details.

Real specifics

• The towns and neighbourhoods you serve, by name.
• What's included, how long it takes, and prices or price ranges if you publish them.
• Licences, certifications, guarantees and years in business: only what's true.
• Who you're best for, in a sentence. AI recommends specific fits: “best for older homes”, “best for emergencies”.

Answer the questions people ask

Add a short questions-and-answers section to each main page, with the questions your customers really ask. Google Search Console shows them: under Performance, add a Query filter and choose Custom (regex), then paste ^(who|what|when|where|why|how|which|can|does|is|should)\s to see the questions people search before they find you.

If you serve several towns, give each one its own page with real proof of work there: jobs, photos and reviews from customers in that town. A page that just swaps the town name doesn't help.
